Utah State had its way with Fresno State on Monday night in Logan. The Aggies scored the first 22 points and built a 64-21 lead with 9:05 to play. That's when the Bulldogs went on a 10-0 run, cutting the deficit to 33.
Utah State's Stew Morrill decided enough was enough. He put his starters back in the game, and that didn't go over with Fresno State's Steve Cleveland.
"One of the real disappointments to me — especially considering the history Stew and I have competing against each other and the great rivalry we have — he was playing his second group which I appreciated. But to reinsert the starters when you're up 33 with 5:43 to go was something I just don't understand," Cleveland said.
