That didn't take long. The Bill Bayno era at Loyola Marymount came to an end after 17 games. The former Nevada Las Vegas coach, who has been on medical leave since November for what colleagues described as work-related depression issues, has been replaced by assistant Max Good.
Bayno had been on the bench for only three games and Good had been guiding the Lions, who are 1-16.
"Coach, God bless him, is going through stress and anxiety," Good told Robyn Norwood of the Los Angeles Times. "I think obviously this is very difficult for him. He's a competitor, and he obviously doesn't like the perception of him giving up.
"I told him I will not call him. People are inundating him with calls. I don't think it helps. He feels he disappointed people and let so many down. He's got to take time out."
