Meet Perry Dozier, Jr., a 5 foot 6 sixth grader at E.L. Wright Middle School in Columbia, S.C. He's regarded as the top-ranked player in the class of 2015.
That's right, the sport of ranking recruits has dipped to a new low. Recruiting services are now ranking sixth graders.
The NCAA is playing along with this sickness, lowering the school year a basketball player is considered a prospect from ninth grade to seventh grade. Middle school prospects are now protected by the NCAA the same way as high school recruits.
Back to Dozier. The kid has his own website and last month, he was selected to play for the junior NBA national team in an exhibition during All-Star weekend in Phoenix. More video of the kid below.
