Tennessee's Bruce Pearl Pearl has recovered from his team's first-round loss to Oklahoma State in the NCAA tournament. The coach made an appearance Monday night at VOLSCARS, an annual gathering at the Knoxville Convention Center to celebrate accomplishments of the men's and women's athletic departments.
Pearl's ex-wife, Shrigley, seems to be doing OK, too. Last November, she opened Alimony's Hair and Nail Salon in Knoxville with funds from her split with Bruce.
Even in a downtrodden economy, her business is booming, and she is more than doubling the space of the salon to about 2,300 square feet from 950 square feet. She is adding a full-service spa that will include facials, waxing and massages and putting in another pedicure chair and two additional nail stations.
"It's quite a big jump. We outgrew this site very quickly, and the space next door was available," she said.
