Boston College beats No. 1 North Carolina and then loses to Harvard. Go figure.
But Al Skinner's team is the biggest surprise of the 2008-09 season, according to Eric Prisbell of the Washington Post.
Prisbell writes: "Before the season, the Eagles were viewed as a one-man team that would finish near the bottom of the ACC. But it's not wise to underestimate coach Al Skinner, who usually gets more out of his players than most people think is there. This team is more than the Tyrese Rice Show."
Prisbell lists eight other teams. At No. 2 is Michigan: "The Wolverines have surpassed their win total (10) of a year ago. Coach John Beilein is one of the nation's finest coaches, but Michigan has beaten UCLA and Duke, a turn of events that would have been very difficult to envision before the season began."
The rest the top 10: California, Illinois, Arkansas, Minnesota, Evansville, Stanford and Maryland.
